Table 5 Classes of sensitivity to solar parks, based on probability and expected impact

From: Harnessing energy abundance: sustainable expansion of solar parks in Lower Saxony through harmonized spatial planning

Very high

A very high probability that the construction of a solar park will cause long-term or permanent ecological changes, resulting in a significant and irreversible loss of biodiversity or ES

High

A high probability that the construction of a solar park will cause medium-term changes, leading to a partial but notable degradation of biodiversity or ES

Medium

A medium probability that the construction of a solar park will result in short-term changes, with a moderate and temporary reduction in the performance of biodiversity or ES

Low

A low probability that the construction of a solar park will result in minor or short-term ecological changes, with minimal impact on biodiversity or ES
